QM RECORDS PRESENTS: MESTERNATIVE ESCAPE

FREE ENTRY - NO WRISTBAND NEEDED

Lineup:

Yakul

Yakul are an exciting neo-soul 4-piece based in Brighton. Influenced by the likes of J-Dilla, D'angelo and the Soulquarians, they put a unique spin on the music they’ve grown up with. Marrying together thoughtful, soulful lyrics with deep grooves and jazz infused progressions, Yakul seamlessly blend genres to create something fresh and original.

A selection of critical acclaim in the past:

“Fusing together swinging hip-hop drums, mazy vocal runs and jazz chords that keep you guessing, the track showcases the bands ability to challenge you as a listener whilst remaining at all times blissfully accessible.” - Somewhere Soul

“Their D’Angelo style grooves combined with snippets of Frank Ocean-esque melodies are a real treat on the ears” – London In Stereo

"Electric musicianship and innate sense of groove and soul" - The Jazz Cafe

“Forward thinking neo-soul/jazz” – Bonafide Magazine

“As much neo-soul as it is all out pop” – Record of the Day

“Filled with smooth jazz melodies and harmonies” – Underground Industry

"Their latest record “Realigned” is a soul stunning single that brings the band's live performing vibes on wax. The keys are soulfully drenched, the drums are rollicking and groovy from the kick to the snare and everything in between, and the vocals complete the cipher with a passionate, buttery style."
